A few members of a space crew are examining a mountainous landscape.
Captain: This alien world is remarkably like Earth. The mountains, the trees, even that lodge. Everyone, spread out and investigate.
Crew member: Captain, I found something.
The captain examines the remainder of someone’s lunch on the go. Sitting next to it is a book left behind.
Captain: The Call of the Wild. Of course!
Captain: An advanced alien species must have read the book and created this elaborate environment to make us feel at home.
Inside a nearby ski lodge, a crew member is renting a pair of skis. In the background, the captain points dramatically.
Employee: Won’t your captain realize you’re back on Earth?
Crew member: She didn’t the last two times.
P.S. Our bills are paid by our wonderful patrons. Could you chip in?
LOL … well, that’s a good way to sneak in some vacation time back home…
Good one, Bunny and Chris!
Used at least once in TOS and one in TNG! :-D
Many horror movies have the final girl trope. I’d like to see a comic on that one.
When failing upwards goes too far…
So were the other times when the other two crew wanted vacation time?
Ha! I love it.
It’s amazing how many planets resemble quarries in Wales, rocks in the States, and forests in British Columbia. :P
