Vampire11 - PreviewVampire11bottom

In the game, Tash pins a punk rocker type guy against a wall, her fangs bared.

Farid (voice over): You corner your victim in the back of the night club, time to feed!

At the table, Farid and Tash discuss the ethics of feeding. Emma looks bored.

Tash: Hold the phone, this doesn’t feel right.

Farid: What’s wrong?

Tash: Cornering someone and taking their blood without consent? That’s super creepy.

Farid: I see what you mean, but Vampires need blood, what’s the alternative?

In the game, Tash presents her former victim with a pen and contract.

Tash: So you see, in exchange for a pint of blood, I’ll use my powers to make sure your landlord honors their obligation to keep your apartment’s heater working.

Former Victim: Sweet deal, where do I sign?

I don’t think I’d make it as a vampire. I’m not likely to play any version of the game, but if I did, this is the kind of thing I’d try.

Ya I feel you. Even though Vampire is a pillar of RPG history, I probably couldn’t play it with most groups, because even though I can personally make a character who has a consensual and beneficial relationships with their blood sources, all it takes is one player to take it too far and the whole thing is ruined.

This is the way I played my Ventrue the very first time I ever played Vampire.

I played the only character that survived the entire Chronicle, and I had something like six groups of Hunters as allies >_>

I could actually see that in a novel … vampires who are a little squeamish about killing or think they’ll be found out sooner or later when just feeding with the help of their powers making it all legal with contracts that promise services in exchange for blood.

I love the comic, btw., always a high point of my week.

Thanks so much, I’ll be sure to pass that on to Lillian, she works hard on that art!

In Vampire: The Masquerade, you can definitely create a vampire with a willing pool of humans from whom they purchase or trade for blood, especially if you’re willing to spend a few points on it.

      • Cay Reet

It’s been a while, but I still remember that, yes.

A nice idea, especially as the law of Masquerade doesn’t allow for just jumping out at strangers and draining them where they stand.

You should read Carry On by Rainbow Rowell.

In the original game there was a whole subculture of Blood Dolls who dressed like vampires and drank each other’s blood. If you wanted your feeding to be consensual you could always find one or more of those guys. Technically it was feeding by deceit but the ‘victim’ was into it and it didn’t break The Masquerade as this character is doing.

My Toreador did something similar, but it was rave and ecstacy themed.

  4. Alverant

I like this idea! It may violate a few rules on secrecy but if you can set up enough people it can work!
