A mentor hands a fancy sword and shield to a young man. Standing next to the mentor is a woman in a fine gown.
Mentor: Rise, new hero, I have a quest for you! You will accompany Lady Ann on a treacherous journey across the mountains to the capital.
The young hero confidently swings his sword at a tree adorned with hanging vines. Ann reaches after him, her face cringing.
Hero: Do not fear, gentle maiden, for I’ll protect you!
Ann: Wait – that’s a stinging strangleweed!
The hero struggles with vines that have wrapped around his arms, his skin turning blotchy red. The mentor addresses Ann.
Mentor: And your job is to escort him safely to the capital while he takes all the credit.
Ann: Oh goody.
P.S. Our bills are paid by our wonderful patrons. Could you chip in?
All in a day’s work for a lady…
LOL … good one again, Bunny and Chris!
*snicker*
Mentor sounds kind of selfish in that one. That’s a good twist.
Ahaha! Great twist! I love it.
Damn, that’s the worst kind of strangleweed…
Wouldn’t an axe be more effective for going after plant life? At least a machete?
